I had the amazing opportunity to style fashion blogger/ underground musician Teiko I Lee as part of a blogger style challenge commissioned by Beats by Dr. Dre, photographed by Jendella Benson. Beats have launched limited edition studio headphones as part of the Selfridges denim lovers campaign collection, thus resulting in the bespoke denim inspired headphone design.
The main direction was to create an outfit inspired by one of the season’s hottest trends, Double Denim.
I decided to go for a semi bold look, because I wanted to incorporate Teiko’s out going and free loving personality – as a musician image is an important aspect to branding yourself, so the more daring the better.
The slightly cropped chambray top paired with the extremely baggy drop crotch jeans, plays with ideas of the masculine and feminine – embodying both the 90’s and the early 2000’s all in one go, as this kind of style hides the curves, rolling up the jeans to show that extra bit of skin creates a chic feminine look.
these amazing shoes by 105 London, quickly change the outfit from boyish to a slightly girly look, the black and white details on the shoes fit into the monochrome trend for this season as well.
The aim is to be bold or go home! The thick gold arm accessories are originally anklets but have proven to be multi-purposeful. Holographic/ Iridescent accessories are big this summer, so the bug eyed reminiscent sunglasses had to be thrown in the mix. Prints, you can never go wrong with them - if you are not quite confident to rock a Solange –esque head to toe print clashing outfit, a head scarf is a quick way to give your outfit some edge. Lastly of course the Beats headphones are the ultimate accessory, how great do they look with the over all outfit – if you would like to purchase these headphones click here.
